Internship Programs
Our Internship Programs include the Legislative Internship, Internship Development and Train-The-Trainer Programs.
Our Legislative Program is a paid internship that places selected and trained API college students at the Oregon Legislature. Our inaugural 2021 Legislative Internship Program we placed five API students. In 2022, we placed another five API students. In 2023 for the long session, we placed two API students and one Latino. In 2024, we placed five API students.
Our newest program, Train-The-Trainer (T3) is the next step for our intern alumni to continue their mentoring, training, and leadership skills. The T3 program started in 2023. After completion of the 2023 T3 program, our intern alumni facilitated the 2023 Summer Internship Development Program. In 2024, we had three intern alumni facilitated the 2024 Summer Internship Development Program.
Our Internship Development Program is dedicated to mentoring and training during the summer months. With workshops such as: API History & Identity, LGBTQIA+ Leadership, Women Leaders, and Mental Health. Invited guest speakers were Elected Officials and API Community.
